Crowns, princes and princesses
On Friday 4 August | at 17:30
After embarking on the exciting adventure of reading an engaging medieval themed fairy tale, we will enter the wonderful world of the Middle Ages to explore the intricate plots of history together, the era of the brave knights, of brave princesses and magnificent castles.
But we will not limit ourselves only to theoretical knowledge! We'll get hands-on and give life to our creativity by building beautiful handmade crowns. With materials such as paper, cardboard, beads and feathers, we will give shape to our personalized royal crowns.
Each participant will be able to express their imagination and invent a unique style for their coronation, turning into an authentic king or queen of the Middle Ages.
At the end of our adventure, we will have not only enriched our historical knowledge, but also created unique crowns that we can keep as a souvenir of this exciting experience.

Extraction of colors from nature
Saturday 5 August | at 17:30
In this laboratory, children will be able to take a step back in time and learn the ancient techniques of extracting colors from nature.
After a first part dedicated to the observation of the characteristics of the flowers, of fruit and vegetables, each participant will be able to experience with their own hands what they have learned.
Once you have all the colors, sufficient time will be set up to discover their peculiarities and play freely with them on a card.
Overwhelmed by the enthusiasm that this activity transmits to the little ones, we will understand how to do magic to transform colors instantly!

Discovering ancient Gemona
Saturday 5 | at 17:00
Gemona, perched on the slopes of the Cuarnan and Cjampon mountains, it has a centuries-old history intimately linked to the territory in which it stands.
His disposition, from the first settlements around Silans, to the castle on the hill, tells us how man has tried to adapt Nature to his needs since the very beginning but also how Nature does not let itself be subjugated.
During this walk suitable for everyone, we will walk through the streets of Gemona to discover the intimate bond of the town with its territory and how both have changed together over the centuries.

I commit: Facile, 4.5km for about 100m of elevation gain.
Equipment: gym shoes, spare t-shirt, hat, water, snack.

Muscle awakening and medieval breakfast

Immersed in an oasis of tranquility and beauty like the castle gardens, we invite you to leave the tiredness behind you and focus on yourself.
Led by a’ exceptional teacher, Marina Forgiarini, you will perform a series of delicate and harmonious exercises that will stimulate your muscles and give you energy to face the day.
Afterwards we invite you to enjoy a breakfast that will take you back in time filling your stomach and your heart with medieval joy. Enjoy the flavours, the traditions and conviviality of a bygone era that still shines in the present.

Bring with you: a mat, a towel, a small pillow, Comfortable clothes, sunscreen, a tie/robe belt and a pair of socks (the activity takes place without footwear).
Meeting point: presented with 15 minutes in advance compared to the start time of the activity in Piazzetta Portuzza. Punctuality is recommended for the correct conduct of the laboratory.
Duration: the activity will have a total duration of about 2 hours and in case of rain it will take place under the loggia of the Town Hall of Gemona.

Creative print

During our journey, we will discover the mechanisms behind the printing process, exploring fascinating techniques with their secrets and peculiarities.
We will appreciate together the different artistic nuances and the unique results that can be obtained with different materials.
It will be an engaging experience in which each child will be able to express their creativity and imagination. We will provide a variety of materials to understand the effects they have on a sheet and to allow little artists to experiment and create their favorite artifact.
Printing will allow us to leave a tangible imprint of our ingenuity and our inventiveness, proving that each of us has the ability to create something special and unique.

Handmade candles

We will begin our artistic journey with the exploration of the properties of natural beeswax, a versatile and traditional material used for candle making since ancient times.
We will learn the basic techniques for manipulating beeswax and shaping our personalized candles, allowing our creativity to flow freely.
Each participant will have the opportunity to shape their own candle according to their tastes and preferences.
During the creative process, we will deepen the role of candles in medieval lighting. We will explore how these small flames provided light and warmth in the homes, in the churches and castles of that era.
We will share fascinating anecdotes about their cultural and symbolic importance, highlighting the magic and atmosphere that candles created in medieval nights.
