Two villages, only one winner
On Monday evening, the winning village of the Palio and the second place they compete in another unmissable appointment: the Living Checkers Challenge.
Here the traditional checkers give way to ladies and knights in sumptuous medieval dresses, who move on the playing field giving life to a spectacular challenge where strategy, elegance and history meet.
Only one village will be the winner and its young lady will be officially proclaimed Lady Castellana.
So it will be her, until next year, to represent the city of Gemona by guarding its keys.
